Narcisse TORDOIR, "Fake Barok" Monumental photographic installation exhibited in the RMFAB
Published on 15.01.2018
On Tuesday 16 January 2018, in the large entrance hall of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, the magistral work "Fake Barok" by Narcisse Tordoir will be exclusively unveiled, in the presence of the artist.
The 28 metres long installation, which is as an index of Tordoirs more recent work, questions the prevailing relations between art, politics and reality. The work is designed as a triptych, a form mostly associated with Christian art, and takes a look at current world problems. Through a procession of photographic scenes and references, the world is presented as a frieze of war, migration, poverty, climate change etc. In short, topics which permanently haunt humankind.
